About Me
Matt Rhoads is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the space where imagination, emotion, and darkness intersect. He attended Cecil College in North East, Maryland, where he earned a Certificate in Photography and an Associate of Fine Arts degree. His artwork has been featured in three Cecil College art exhibitions.
For Rhoads, art has always been more than a creative practice; it has been a language and his preferred form of communication. As a child, drawing became both a refuge and a means of expressing thoughts and emotions that words could not capture.
Working primarily in illustration while embracing a variety of artistic mediums, Rhoads creates imagery that invites viewers to confront the unseen: the shadows that surround us and the darkness that resides within. Influenced by comic books, video games, and visual storytelling, he transforms familiar inspirations into emotionally charged works that blur the line between fantasy and introspection. His art encourages viewers to embrace discomfort, question perception, and discover meaning within the unknown.
